Woman ditches ‘traditional living’ building herself an incredible tiny home on wheels for just $9K

Rita Marie Carr’s story is one of transformation and self-discovery.

However, life had other plans for her.

When Rita began working remotely, she took the bold step of living in her Wrangler Jeep.

This experience was a revelation.

The freedom of the open road, the ever-changing landscapes, and the ability to work from anywhere made her question her previous lifestyle.

It was during this phase that she stumbled upon the idea of a more permanent mobile home.

Enter Wilbur, a delightful pink Ford minibus that Rita decided to purchase.

Over the course of three years, with a budget of around $9,000, she transformed this vehicle into a cozy, personalized living space.

Resourcefulness was key—Rita upcycled materials and scoured deals to make her vision come to life.

Wilbur’s multiple doors are not just functional but symbolic of Rita’s many adventures.

holding fresh produce, it’s a blend of functionality and artistry.

But the standout feature is her innovative sink.

Ditching the traditional faucet setup that proved problematic, Rita introduced a transparent glass jar and a rustic bucket, combining utility with a touch of nostalgia.

While Wilbur is her home, the Wrangler Jeep remains an integral part of Rita’s journey.

Whether she’s embarking on short explorations, fetching supplies, or seeking off-road thrills, the Jeep is her trusty sidekick.
