DOGE Is “Exposing Money Laundering Operations,” Expert Claims

Political consultant and writer Peter Schweizer recently claimed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has uncovered “money laundering operations” within the federal government during a recent episode of his show “The Drill Down.”  DOGE, run by Elon Musk, has been on a mission since Inauguration Day to cut wasteful spending, eliminate fraud, and structure the government to better serve the U.S. taxpayer.

While Schweizer and his co-host Eric Eggers acknowledged that the savings generated from DOGE’s efforts barely put a scratch on the ever-growing $36 trillion in federal debt, they pointed out that it has exposed seeming schemes to funnel money into politicized interests, such as DEI or climate-change initiatives.

“Even if the cuts DOGE has found are drops of water in the ocean of the U.S. national debt,” Schweizer said before adding “they shift the conversation.”  DOGE has recently uncovered numerous grants to DEI causes in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Moreover, the Trump administration also found that a $2 billion grant for the “decarbonization of homes” in low-income was given to a non-profit startup associated with Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams.

Schweizer said, “This is why DOGE is important … It is exposing the money-laundering operations.”  He further noted that much of this money fails to actually benefit the intended recipients.  “By the time it gets to the double-wide trailer for better insulation, a huge percentage of it has gone to these politically connected cronies,” he added.

The podcast host substantiated this argument with a claim from his book “Clinton Cash” in which he reported that Clintons used funds from USAID to benefit the benefactors of their foundation.  Schweizer claimed the Irish entrepreneur Denis O’Brien’s company, Digicel, received a $2.5 million contract to create a digital banking system in Haiti.

“It was called the Haiti Mobile Money Initiative. This was a dual grant award from USAID and the [Bill and Melinda] Gates Foundation. So, they funded a cell phone banking system,” he said. “Now, it just so happens that there’s a guy who runs a cell phone company in Haiti, who is a very good “Friend of Bill.” He adds that Bill Clinton made a series of speeches in Ireland that were sponsored by O’Brien, and the Clinton Foundation received a donation.

Schweizer argued this conduct has been emulated by the Biden family during the Obama administration, where USAID funds were directed to the Ukrainian company Burisma.  Hunter Biden appeared on the company’s board of directors just a few months later. “This is legal graft,” he claimed. “You figure out a way to do it. So, you are crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s, but you are basically manipulating and funneling that money to other entities.”

The American Tribune reported on other DOGE findings, where Elon Musk recently claimed “tax dollars are being stolen” after exposing “massive fraud” within the Social Security Administration.  Posting the findings on X, Musk wrote ,”Just learned that the social security database is not de-duplicated, meaning you can have the same SSN many times over, which further enables MASSIVE FRAUD!! Your tax dollars are being stolen.”
