Despite battling a calf injury during the preliminaries, Simone Biles displayed her exceptional skill across all four gymnastics events at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Her performance not only earned her another gold medal but also reinforced her legendary status in the sport. With eight Olympic medals, including four golds, and 30 World Championship medals, Biles has undeniably cemented her place as the greatest gymnast of all time.
Simone Biles had a Difficult Childhood
Before achieving success as an athlete, Simone Biles and her siblings endured a challenging childhood marked by hunger. She recalled how their mother often fed the family cat more than her own children. “Growing up, me and my siblings were so focused on food because we didn’t have a lot of food,” Biles shared, revealing that this experience left her with a lasting dislike for cats.
Biles’ biological mother struggled with substance abuse, leading to such severe issues that concerned neighbors eventually called social services. As a result, Biles and her siblings were placed in foster care. While Biles doesn’t remember much about her time in the system, she feels fortunate to have been able to stay with her siblings during that difficult period.
The following month, the couple flew to Cabo San Lucas with their closest family and friends for a more elaborate destination wedding. This event was meticulously planned, and Biles wore more than one dress for the celebration.
After the wedding festivities, Biles and Owens moved into her stunning home in Houston. Unlike a typical American-style house, Biles chose a modern, minimalist design. Some describe it as “an LA house, but in Houston,” a style that doesn’t resonate with her parents, Nellie and Ron. They often tell their daughter that it’s not the type of house they would choose, to which Biles responds, “But it’s not your house, it’s mine.”
Biles purchased the $2 million property in 2019, frequently sharing glimpses of it on social media. The home features a sleek black-and-white interior, a cozy kitchen, a spacious living room, an elegant L-shaped pool, and a backyard table set with swings for chairs.
In addition to Instagram photos, Biles has also welcomed home tours, allowing fans to view her home on YouTube. Despite the beauty of her current residence, Biles and Owens revealed shortly before their wedding that they are building a new home together. They announced this by posting photos on Instagram, standing on the plot of land where their new house will be built.
“A home is made with love & dreams. Cheers to breaking ground,” Biles captioned her post. The expansive plot is lined with trees, with a lake visible in the background.
Construction of the new home began in January and is still ongoing. The couple has not yet announced the expected completion date.
For now, Biles and Owens continue to live in her Houston property. The gymnastics star frequently showcases the beautiful home on Instagram, often spending time outdoors by the pool.
