Last year, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy had one of his best moments when he caught press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre off guard during a press briefing when he hit KJP with a lighthearted joke instead of his usual hard-hitting questions.
As Doocy was selected to give his question during the briefing, he made an unexpected inquiry, asking Jean-Piere what “four-letter word” popped into her mind when it was discovered that Biden had classified documents at his house in Wilmington, Delaware.
“When you found out, the FBI located even more classified materials in Wilmington, which four letter word did you use?” Doocy asked. KJP immediately began laughing at the comical question. “Oh my goodness Peter,” she said.
However, the humor was short-lived before Doocy jumped on KJP, following up by asking if Joe Biden still intended to run for president. “President Biden still intending to run for reelection in 2024. Right?” the Fox News White House correspondent continued.
“I’ll just repeat what the President said after the midterm election, which is he intends to run. I’m going to be very careful from here, as you know, because we are covered by the Hatch Act, and I’m not going to speak further to his process,” she responded.
Refusing to hold back, Doocy then asked, “Is there a precedent for people running for president after FBI agents search their sock drawer?” KJP refused to directly answer the question, stating, “It sounds like you already know that that the answer to that question.”
The press secretary proceeded to explain to Doocy, seemingly redirecting the conversation away from his original question, some of Biden’s most important components of his agenda. Watch Doocy open up his exchange with KJP with ascerbic humor and her painful deflection:

The press secretary proceeded to explain to Doocy, seemingly redirecting the conversation away from his original question, some of Biden’s most important components of his agenda. Watch Doocy open up his exchange with KJP with ascerbic humor and her painful deflection:
“Here’s what the President is going to focus on. He’s going to focus on continuing to deliver for the American people. That’s his focus. That’s what he focuses on every day. That’s what he’s been focusing on the last two years and nothing is going to change that. You think about the bipartisan infrastructure legislation. You think about the influence inflation Reduction Act. You think about the chips and science act bipartisan. Those the bipartisan one, the last two that I mentioned, done in a bipartisan way. That’s what the President wants to do. He wants to continue to deliver on his economic plan. That is going to build the economy from the bottom up middle out. That is what matters to the President,” she said.
Undeterred from KJP’s long-winded response, Doocy pressed onward, “The House Oversight Committee chairman says this document situation has all the makings of a potential cover. Is President Biden involved in a cover up?”
Jean-Pierre responded to Doocy’s additional inquiry, explaining that Biden takes issues related to classified materials very seriously. She further informed Doocy that he should refer any more questions related to this matter to other colleagues within the White House.
“We’ve been very clear here from this administration. The President has been very clear that he takes this very seriously when it comes to when it comes to classified information when it comes to classified documents and that his team has been has been fully cooperative with this legal matter,” she said.
