President Joe Biden recently gave a speech in which he was flanked by Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and said, among other things, peddled lies about former President Trump, such as that Trump told Americans to inject themselves with bleach. More than his slurred words and obvious falsehoods, however, the video pushed out by the White Houe from the event raised eyebrows because of how obviously edited it was, splicing together numerous clips from the speech in an attempt to make Biden look more coherent.
The RNC Research account on X (formerly Twitter), argued that the video was “awkwardly” spliced together from various parts of Biden’s speech and that the White House had tried to pass it off as live even though it had been recorded ahead of time so that Biden could retreat to his vacation spot, Rehoboth Beach in Delaware.
Tweeting those allegations about the video, the RNC Research account claimed, “Biden’s handlers were forced to awkwardly splice this propaganda video together because of his inability to read the giant teleprompter. Then they passed it off as “live,” even though it was recorded yesterday so Biden could retreat to Delaware.”

Then they passed it off as “live,” even though it was recorded yesterday so Biden could retreat to Delaware.”
However, the video was probably not intended to be taken as “live,” but rather the “LIVE” box on the upper left corner of the video remained from when the video was originally made, and thus a remnant of the clips that had been spliced together.
One person who quote-tweeted the RNC REsearch tweet about the White House’s bad editing job joked that there were a massive number of edits in the extremely short clip, saying, “There are more editing cuts in these 11 seconds than in an entire Liam Neeson fight scene in a “Taken” movie.”
Another quote-tweeter argued that the video shows the sorry state of things in the White House, as even when clips are spliced together Biden is barely coherent. That individual said, “It’s gotten to the point now where it’s truly insulting to any person with half a brain – to listen to this man speak. To our adversaries we are an unmitigated laughingstock.”

Another aspect of the Biden speech that drew scorn was when he referred to Trump as “the guy who doesn’t care about science, and reason,” then went on to claim, “remember, during the pandemic Donald Trump told us to inject themselves–ourselves with bleach.” Biden also claimed “he said there’s nothing to worry about if you do that.”

That is a claim Biden has made before and which has been fact-checked before. For reference, what Trump actually said was, “A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right?”
