Fulton County Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade Facing Contempt Allegations In Divorce Proceedings

According to recent divorce filings, the former special prosecutor Nathan Wade, in the election interference case against former President Donald Trump, is facing accusations of contempt.  An extramarital affair was exposed between Wade and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Wade’s ex-wife, Jocelyn Wade, claimed that Nathan has failed to pay her medical bills in court filings released this week. “Defendant urgently requires medical procedures, namely an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ultrasound, due to severe physical symptoms she has been enduring. These symptoms have significantly impacted her ability to consume most foods, leading to a substantial weight loss,” according to the filing.

“Despite a direct request from Defendant to Plaintiff for prepayment and an additional demand from Defendant’s counsel to Plaintiff’s counsel, Plaintiff has failed and neglected to fulfill his obligation under the Temporary Order to cover these necessary healthcare costs. Instead, Plaintiff has instructed Defendant to make payment to the provider herself, with an assurance of reimbursement,” the filing continues.

After the controversial affair between Willis and Wade surfaced, speculation has arisen that a conflict of interest could have existed while Wade was still appointed to the case.  Allegations suggest that Willis could have attained improper financial benefits from the arrangement.

Reportedly, Wade was paid over $300,000 for his work on the Trump case after being hired by Willis in 2022.  Both Willis and Wade testified under oath that their relationship began after he was appointed to the election interference case.  However, employee testimony suggests the relationship started long before, possibly as early as 2021.

According to recent reports, former President Donald Trump and eight of his co-defendants in the Fulton County case brought against him, and 18 former members of his 2020 campaign have appealed Judge Scott McAfee’s ruling that required Nathan Wade’s departure from the RICO case but allowed DA Willis to stay.  Many have argued that Willis should outright be disqualified from the case.

However, Judge McAfee determined that there was no legitimate conflict of interest, meaning she did not have to resign the case. McAfee wrote, “Without sufficient evidence that the District Attorney acquired a personal stake in the prosecution, or that her financial arrangements had any impact on the case, the Defendants’ claims of an actual conflict must be denied.”

The American Tribune reported on comments from Harvard Law professor emeritus, who gave his opinion on the alleged crimes committed by Fani Willis in the Fulton County case.  “She ought to be on trial for perjury, conspiracy to commit perjury, witness tampering,” Dershowitz recently stated. “The evidence is overwhelming that she committed perjury, including technical scientific evidence and several witnesses.”

Dershowitz further claimed that there is “overwhelming” evidence of financial impropriety committed by Willis.  The law professor expressed his wishes for the appellate court to throw out the case.  “Essentially she got kickbacks for appointing this highly unqualified person to head the prosecution,” he added. “I sure hope the appellate court takes the case and throws her out of the case and recommends that there be a criminal investigation … we have to have an independent prosecutor of some kind looking into what is an open and shut case of perjury.”
