Delicious Garbage Bread

This savory, shareable baked treat is inspired by a cheeseburger, featuring seasoned ground beef,  cheese, bacon, and pickles all rolled up inside soft French bread dough.

How to Make Garbage Bread

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2: Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess grease.

Step 3: Roll the Dough
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the French bread dough into a rectangle about 12×18 inches.

Step 4: Add Condiments
Spread ketchup and mustard evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.

Step 5: Layer Fillings
Top the dough with cooked beef, crumbled bacon, and chopped pickles.

Step 6: Add  Cheese
Place American cheese slices evenly over the fillings.

Step 7: Roll and Seal
Roll the dough from one long side to the other, sealing the edges tightly. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 8: Brush and Bake
Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.

Step 9: Cool and Serve
Let the bread cool at least 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with Thousand Island dressing for dipping.
