Bush welcomes grandson named after great-grandfathers

George W. Bush is commemorating the expansion of his family.
The 78-year-old former president of the United States proudly announced the arrival of his new grandson on social media.
Bush shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram on Tuesday, August 6, to congratulate his daughter, Barbara Pierce Bush, and her husband, Craig Coyne, on the birth of their second child.
Just a few days prior, the couple, who are already parents to a two-year-old daughter named Cora Georgia, welcomed their son, Edward Finn, into the world.
Barbara and Craig are depicted in a heartwarming photograph, cradling their newborn son in a hospital bed. Their faces are lit by joy as they gaze affectionately at their son. Bush wrote in his caption, “Welcome to the world, Edward Finn Coyne. @laurawbush and I are proud grandparents of our newest blessing, born on August 4 and lovingly named in honor of his great-grandfathers.” “Barbara, Craig, and her older sister, Cora Georgia, deserve congratulations.”

Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, initially disclosed the joyful information on Monday, August 5. Jenna, a co-anchor on the Today show, expressed her enthusiasm for becoming an aunt once more on Instagram.

Jenna, 42, captioned a series of photos that captured the special moments following Edward’s birth with the message, “My sister had a little mister and I fell madly in love with Edward Finn! ❤️💗👼.” Jenna is observed feeding her newborn nephew in one photograph, while Barbara is depicted holding Edward in another, while Jenna observes with admiration. Edward is depicted in a third photograph in the gallery, where he is depicted in a state of tranquility within the embrace of his mother.

Despite Jenna’s failure to furnish additional information regarding her nephew’s birth, the photographs provide a glimpse of the family’s happiness. Today.com noted that Edward was observed wearing a hat from NYU Langone Health, which suggests that Barbara may have given birth at the esteemed New York City hospital.

George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, have previously expressed their enthusiasm for becoming grandparents. Upon the birth of Barbara and Craig’s daughter, Cora, the former president and first lady issued a joint statement to declare their joy.

“With grateful hearts, It is with great pleasure that @laurawbush and I announce the birth of our new granddaughter. In October 2021, Barbara and Craig disclosed that Cora Georgia Coyne was born on September 27, 2021, in Maine, a location that was not far from their family residence, where they were married. “Cora is both adorable and healthy, and we are both proud and appreciative.”
