MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace went berserk during her coverage of remarks that former President Donald Trump made when criticizing the daughter of a New York Supreme Court justice. In fact, the furious MSNBC host flipped out so much over Trump’s remarks that she threw her script in the air while she was still live on-air.
As background, former President Donald Trump has been increasingly critical of Justice Juan Merchan’s daughter. His snipes at Justice Merchan’s daughter, an active participant in Democratic politics, come after she posted a meme of him behind bars on social media. Judge Merchan is handling the hush money case against Trump.
Trump, posting about Justice Merchan’s daughter on TruthSocial, said, “So, let me get this straight, the Judge’s daughter is allowed to post pictures of her “dream” of putting me in jail, the Manhattan D.A. is able to say whatever lies about me he wants, the Judge can violate our Laws and Constitution at every turn, but I am not allowed to talk about the attacks against me, and the Lunatics trying to destroy my life, and prevent me from winning the 2024 Presidential Election, which I am dominating? Maybe the Judge is such a hater because his daughter makes money by working to “Get Trump,” and when he rules against me over and over again, he is making her company, and her, richer and richer. How can this be allowed?”
That attack came a day after Justice Merchan placed a gag order on Trump ahead of the April 15 trial, saying that former President Trump’s “pattern of attacking family members of presiding jurists and attorneys assigned to his cases serves no legitimate purpose. It merely injects fear in those assigned or called to participate in the proceedings, that not only they, but their family members as well, are ‘fair game’ for Defendant’s vitriol.”
Continuing, Merchan said, “It is no longer just a mere possibility or a reasonable likelihood that there exists a threat to the integrity of the judicial proceedings. The threat is very real.” He then wrote, “The average observer must now, after hearing Defendant’s recent attacks, draw the conclusion that if they become involved in these proceedings, even tangentially, they should worry not only for themselves, but for their loved ones as well. Such concerns will undoubtedly interfere with the fair administration of justice and constitutes a direct attack on the Rule of Law itself.”
It was that situation about which Wallace went berserk and threw her script in the air. Accusing the former president of posting a “threat to the rule of law” by sounding off on the justice’s daughter, she claimed, “The threat to the rule of law posed by an ex-president who does not hesitate to target judges and their children is where we start today with some of our favorite reporters and friends.”
Continuing, Wallace demanded that something “different” be done about Trump, saying, “So, you know, it’s time to do something different. Like we’re not going to have this conversation again. I have come on the air with breaking news about requests for gag orders because of threats for judges and their kids more times than I can count today before I got ready.”
She added, “Donald Trump broke the rule of law and we should cover a broken judiciary in this country. Donald Trump managed to delay every federal, criminal trial based on facts that he barely denies. Donald Trump managed to enlist the Supreme Court in a delayed process, the highest court in the land. Donald Trump brazenly and repeatedly attacks not just judges … Judges don’t have secret service protecting them.”
