WATCH: Melania Recited Lord’s Prayer At Rally In “Very Beautiful” Resurfaced Speech About A Country That Works For “All Americans”

In an incredible video from way back in mid-February of 2017, shortly after Trump entered the White House for his first term, then-President Trump and then-First Lady Melania Trump spoke at Trump’s Make America Great Again Rally in Melbourne, Florida. Kicking off that event, Melania recited the Lord’s Prayer and vowed to fight for America.

Beginning things by thanking the crowd for its applause and praying, Melania said, “Thank you. Thank you. Let us pray. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.”

Then, after beginning with a prayer, she spoke about her husband’s administration’s vision for the country, saying they want a country that works for all Americans. She said, “Good afternoon. It is my honor and great pleasure to stand here before you as the First Lady of the United States. The America we envision is one that works for all Americans and where all Americans can work and succeed — a nation committed to greater civility and unity between people from all sides of the political divide.”

Continuing, she pledged to stay true and truthful no matter what, telling the applauding crowd, “I will always stay true to myself and be truthful to you, no matter what the opposition is saying about me. I will act in the best interest of all of you. I’m committed to creating and supporting initiatives dear to my heart, which will have impact on women and children all around the world.”

Then, ending her brief introduction, she introduced her newly elected husband, saying, “My husband is creating a country of great safety and prosperity. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to introduce the President of the United States, Donald Trump.”

Trump then repeatedly thanked her and the audience while describing her speech as “very beautiful,” saying, “Thank you, everybody. Thank you all. I didn’t know that Melania was going to be saying the Lord’s Prayer, but I thought that was very beautiful. Thank you. Thank you.”

After Melania’s introduction and his thanks, Trump spoke about his MAGA movement and the media. He said, “I’m here because I want to be among my friends and among the people. This was a great movement — a movement like has never been seen before in our country, or probably anywhere else. This was a truly great movement, and I want to be here with you, and I will always be with you, I promise you. I want to be in a room filled with hardworking American patriots who love their country, who salute their flag, and who pray for a better future.”

He continued, ripping the media, “I also want to speak to you without the filter of the fake news. The dishonest media, which has published one false story after another, with no sources, even though they pretend they have them — they make them up in many cases — they just don’t want to report the truth, and they’ve been calling us wrong now for two years. They don’t get it, but they’re starting to get it, I can tell you that. They’ve become a big part of the problem. They are part of the corrupt system.”
